Job Title: IT Intern
Location: CatholicTech, Castel Gandolfo, Italy - On Campus
Duration: 3 months (90 Days)
Stipend/Compensation: Full room and board provided on campus, plus $500 monthly stipend
Start Date: Flexible range of dates, first opportunity starts July 1st, 2025
CatholicTech is seeking a passionate and organized IT Intern to support the college’s IT infrastructure and systems. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure that faculty, staff, and students have the necessary technology resources to succeed in their academic and administrative roles. This internship offers exposure to a wide range of IT functions, including help desk support, system administration, network management, and more. You will gain skills in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and professionalism. Interns are also given the opportunity to take a class and an Italian language intensive during their time at CatholicTech.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the college’s computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students via phone, email, or in-person for hardware and software issues.
- Help configure and set up new devices, including computers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of software applications used by faculty and students.
- Support the management of the college’s network and ensure proper functioning of wireless and wired systems.
- Help in the setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting of classroom technology (projectors, smartboards, etc.).
- Contribute to system updates, patches, and security measures to safeguard college data and resources.
- Assist in maintaining the college’s data backup and recovery systems.
- Document common technical issues and solutions for future reference.
- Support in IT-related projects such as system upgrades and campus-wide software deployments.
- Participate in regular IT team meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Informational Technology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in technology, problem-solving, and learning about IT systems.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to the college’s specific IT environment.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, cloud services, or cybersecurity is a plus, but not required.
