CatholicTech is seeking a passionate and organized Campus Ministry & Music Intern to support the spiritual life of the college community by assisting with the planning and execution of music ministry and faith-related events. This position is ideal for a student who is passionate about music, the Catholic faith, and fostering community. This internship presents hands-on experience working in a Catholic campus ministry setting in Castel Gandolfo, Italy. The intern will work closely with the Campus Ministry team to enrich the faith life of students through music, liturgy, and prayer. Interns are also given the opportunity to take a class and an Italian language intensive during their time at CatholicTech.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and leading reverent music for Masses (both daily and weekly).
- Help select and prepare music for Masses, retreats, and any pilgrimage opportunities.
- Lead a Bible study for students to engage in the Word of God.
- Coordinate with other departments such as Event Planning and Marketing to integrate faith and music into larger campus-wide events and activities.
- Assist in planning and organizing retreats, cultural Catholic festivals, and other faith-centered events, with a special focus on music-related activities.
- Provide support for the development and promotion of faith and music-related content on social media and other communication platforms.
- Help with administrative tasks related to campus ministry events, such as scheduling, setting up, and organizing materials.
- Engage with students to create a spirit of community and belonging, especially through the arts and music.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Music, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.
- A strong passion for music and the role it plays in spiritual life, particularly in a Catholic context.
- Experience with leading or participating in music ministry, choirs, or similar music groups (preferred).
- Familiarity with Catholic liturgical practices and an understanding of the significance of sacred music in worship.
- Ability to read music and play an instrument (e.g. organ, piano).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to embrace and deepen personal faith in the context of the Catholic tradition.
