Mid Level (2-5 years)
- A Bachelor's degree in content area taught
- Bachelor's degree with 18 credit hours in content area taught will be accepted
- Bachelor's degree with completion of appropriate state certification exam will be accepted
- 12 Credit hours in education courses or a valid appropriate state certification
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Continuous growth in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
- Develops in the students a knowledge of Catholic doctrine/tradition
- Provides service ministry opportunities
- The teacher encourages and supports students to achieve maximum potential in spiritual and academic growth.
- The teacher maintains a sound disciplinary program that provides direction and positive attitudes.
- The teacher maintains a functional, organized, and positive classroom which maximizes learning.
- The teacher shows evidence of planning and preparing for classroom instruction.
- The teacher utilizes a variety of teaching strategies in the delivery of instruction.
- The teacher evaluates student learning.
- The teacher exhibits knowledge of subject matter(s).
- The teacher utilizes principles of motivation and reinforcement.
- The teacher demonstrates professional attitudes, responsibilities and pursues professional growth.
- The teacher supports administration, school programs, communicates effectively with parents, works collaboratively with colleagues, promotes the school and its mission in a positive light, and helps to build community and connection in the school community and diocese.
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
- Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures
