- Strategic Planning: Set, implement, achieve, and track goals; lead strategic efforts for major and planned giving within assigned area of responsibility; work collaboratively with other staff and donors to serve the financial needs and evangelization/apostolic mission of the organization.
- Promote Planned Giving: Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of various giving vehicles (e.g., bequests, charitable trusts, annuities); solicit planned gifts that are beneficial to donors and prospects; effectively articulate the merits of planned giving options in presentations and collaboration with staff, donors, and prospects; assist staff in identifying planned giving opportunities and creating and delivering proposals; prepare charitable gift tax calculations and proposals for prospects and donors; develop marketing plans and materials to promote planned giving; ensure proper record keeping and compliance of planned giving program as needed; interface with attorneys and financial advisors as needed.
- Foster Relationships: Establish, nurture, and sustain strong and highly collaborative relationships with prospective and current donors through active listening, personal verbal and written contact, events and presentations; effectively articulate the compelling mission, vision, and ministry of the organization across all constituencies.
- Portfolio Management: Build and manage a donor portfolio made up of planned and major giving prospects; identify and engage potential donors; set and execute goals for deepening relationships across all phases of donor engagement and securing major or planned gifts; maintain up-to-date and accurate donor records and proposed next steps; plan and execute trips and donor visits.
- Excellent listening and written/verbal communication skills
- Strong prioritization, time management, organization, and multitasking skills
- Discretion and professionalism in working collaboratively with religious Sisters, donors, and staff
- Self-starter, can work with minimal direction if needed
- Experience with Microsoft products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience in fundraising with a focus on planned giving or equivalent (e.g., business/account management, sales, marketing, financial)
- Knowledge of estate planning and tax laws
- Proficiency in donor database/CRM systems
