- Plan and execute competition logistics and strategy.
- Promote the athletic, academic, and spiritual development of each student-athlete and a positive team culture. The Catholic Faith and Christian moral principles are integrated into the daily activities and program.
- Plan and execute challenging practices and training programs including team and specific position/individual athlete instruction.
- Promote academic development of each student athlete and team culture of academic excellence.
- Comply with all relevant NCAA and PAC conference rules and regulations and communicate with prospective student athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations. Coordinate visits with the Admissions Office.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Staff and other University Departments on logistical issues such as contest scheduling, team travel, field/venue scheduling/maintenance and game day preparation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or delegate.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of Head Coaching experience at a competitive level (College, High School, or Club).
- College swimming and diving coaching and/or competitive swimming at the college level preferred.
- Knowledge or aptitude to learn NCAA and DIII rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate effective coaching skills, knowledge of coaching tactics in the development of the student athlete, and the ability to promote a positive culture.
- Implementation of daily practice plan and competition strategy.
- Verbal Communications: Uses effective speaking and listening techniques to ensure clear and actionable communications.
- Developing Self: Continually assesses one’s skills and identifies areas that can be further improved.
- Decision Quality: Effectively blends analysis, experience, and intuition in the decision-making process.
- Must strive to attain a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness in all aspects of the job.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Lifeguard Certification.
- Must be able to schedule meets in a timely manner and report game scores and statistics after the meet.
- Understanding of running meet; manager tracking of equipment/inventory.
- Work with the Transportation Manager to coordinate travel and capability/willingness to drive 12-passenger van.
