Position Summary:
The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh has an immediate need for a mission-driven Impact Giving Officer to lead and grow efforts in securing unrestricted philanthropic support. This individual will report to the Assistant Director of Philanthropy and Engagement. The Impact Giving Officer will cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors with emphasis on annual, mid-level and leadership gifts that provide essential, flexible funding for Diocesan priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with donors and seek gifts of $10,000+.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of current and prospective donors with capacity to give at mid and major gift levels.
- Establish and manage successful relationships and strategies that result in greater affinity, impact and engagement with the Diocesan offices.
- Utilizes Raiser’s Edge database to research donors and Daily to track donor activities.
- Excellent written and verbal skills with storytelling capability to relay impact of giving success including strategic thinking for future and video materials.
- Utilizes Raiser’s Edge database to research donor inquiries regarding current and past donations on a variety of diocesan campaigns including tracking all donor activity.
- Proficient in public speaking with the ability to give impactful presentations in a variety of settings including 1:1, small group and large group.
- Interfaces with DataOps team in soliciting needed data to accomplish impact goals
- Work with Chief Development Officer and Assistant Director of Philanthropy and Engagement to develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship strategies to encourage recurring and increased support.
- Travel throughout Diocese for prospect meetings, events, and work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant years of experience.
- A minimum of five years of fundraising experience and familiarity with principles and practices of annual and major giving.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for relationship building.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and leadership initiative skills.
- A full scope of knowledge concerning annual giving best practices and trends and the capability of maintaining a broad range of responsibilities.
- Measurable success in fundraising and donor acquisition.
- Raiser’s Edge and RENXT experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Must satisfactorily complete required criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 30 days of hire.
