Mission Advancement Officer Role Description
LOCATION: Sarasota/Bradenton, FL
SUMMARY
The Mission Advancement Officer reports directly to the Mission Advancement Director and is responsible for supporting all development, advancement and fundraising activities, correspondence, and special projects.

CORE COMPETENCIES/BENCHMARKS
- Demonstrate ability to build a culture of philanthropy and to enthusiastically and successfully engage in one-on-one solicitations and on-going donor stewardship.
- Reach the agreed upon number of face-to-face visits with current and new donors.
- Effectively manage donor communications plan to build a consistent brand and to develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
- Maintain segmented donor lists and support the overall development and maintenance of CRM (Bloomerang).
- Effectively oversee and maintain records of contributions, ensuring security and quality controls. Generate queries, reports, and other collection criteria as needed (Bloomerang).
- Support the Sarasota/Bradenton Advancement Plan (Part of Overall Development Funding Plan).
- Continued development and support of new donor base in the Sarasota area.
- Work to increase the number of monthly donors.
- Help identify and meet with major donors (Including Legacy For Life Opportunities).
- Support Gainesville/UF Alumni Advancement Plan (Part of Overall Development Funding Plan).
- Continued development and support of new donor base in Gainesville area.
- Work to increase the number of monthly donors.
- Help identify and meet with major donors (Including Legacy For Life Opportunities).
- Support outlying areas Advancement Plan (Part of Overall Development Funding Plan).
- Continued development and support of new donor base in other areas where we don’t currently have office or mobile clinics.
- Work to increase the number of monthly donors.
- Help identify and meet with major donors (Including Legacy For Life Opportunities).
- Support the success of the annual Sarasota fundraising event (Jan. of each year).
- Support the success of annual underwriting/sponsorship luncheon event(s) for the Sarasota fundraising event.
- Conduct community outreach events – churches, other organizations, homes, etc.
