Job Responsibilities

The Diocesan Coordinator of Marriage & Family Life will be responsible for the following:
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and resources that promote healthy marriages and family life within the diocese.
  • Collaborating with local parishes to support marriage preparation programs, couples retreats, and family enrichment activities.
  • Providing guidance and support to parish leaders, volunteers, and family life committees.
  • Organizing workshops, conferences, and training sessions on relevant topics such as parenting, communication, and relationship skills.
  • Coordinating outreach initiatives to engage and support families, including those facing challenges related to divorce, separation, and loss.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data collection related to family life initiatives and programs.
  • Staying informed about current trends and research in marriage and family life, integrating best practices into diocesan programming.
  • Building partnerships with community organizations and resources that align with diocesan goals.
  • Reporting on initiatives’ progress and outcomes to diocesan leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Family Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in ministry, community service, or family support services.
  • Strong understanding of Catholic teachings on marriage, family, and human sexuality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a diverse range of audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to working with individuals and families.
  • Willingness to promote and uphold the mission and values of the Catholic Diocese.
