Job Responsibilities
The School Counselor will provide support and guidance to students to promote their academic, emotional, and social development. Key responsibilities include:- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' personal and academic concerns.
- Develop and implement programs to assist students in understanding and overcoming social or behavioral problems.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrative staff to create a supportive environment for student growth.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as stress management, career planning, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, assessments, and interventions.
- Assist students in setting academic and personal goals and provide ongoing support to achieve them.
- Monitor student progress and provide referrals to external resources when necessary.
- Stay informed about relevant legal and ethical guidelines related to student counseling and education.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students, parents, and faculty.
- Ability to empathize with students and maintain confidentiality.
- Basic understanding of child development and educational systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Enthusiasm for working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the profession through training and development opportunities.
