Beginning Experience® Ministry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers effective, structured grief support programs across the USA and in two overseas regions, Great Britain & Ireland and Asia Pacific.  Since the first Beginning Experience® Weekend retreat was held in Texas in 1974, BEIM “peer ministry” teams have helped tens of thousands of divorced, separated and widowed women and men of all ages to find hope and healing after the end of a marital relationship. Would you like to play a role in helping people find a new path after one of the worst losses of their life: a divorce, separation, or the death of their marital partner? We are founded and grounded in the Catholic faith but open to people of all faiths grieving the loss of their marriage. Our work is challenging but very much needed in today’s world. MISSION STATEMENT Beginning Experience® International Ministry programs and peer ministers serve those grieving the loss of a spousal relationship so they can move forward in life loving God, themselves, and others.
POSITION OVERVIEW The successful candidate will share responsibility for:
  • guiding the worldwide BEIM organization with a focus on serving its members and program participants on their journey from grief to hope, leading to a new beginning in their lives
  • collaborating with the Board, committee members, and supporters to accomplish the Ministry’s strategic and operational goals
  • managing the day-to-day operations of the Ministry
  • increasing BEIM’s visibility and viability through successful marketing and fundraising efforts in conjunction with our working Board committees; applying today’s technology (e.g., AI) to meet organizational needs and promote growth
  • managing paid IMO staff, volunteers and technology consultants
  • handling tax, insurance, legal, and payroll compliance matters; responsible for financial oversight including fundraising, grant proposals, annual budget preparation
  • overseeing the integrity of the Ministry and promoting the programs offered by BEIM’s local teams; also, for supporting affiliated (licensed) organizations or individuals and engaging strategic partners
  • planning the in-person BEIM 2026 summer Convention in the U.S.; supporting and attending 1-2 Regional Conferences; possibly traveling to overseas Conferences in a non-Convention year.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • must live in the United States and pass a pre-employment background check
  • a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public or nonprofit management, social services, education, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • prior management responsibility in a private, public, educational, or nonprofit setting is a plus, as is board or leadership experience in an organization with volunteer members serving in multiple locations
  • good computer/technology skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint at a minimum), with a willingness to stretch and learn new applications and methodologies
  • excellent communication, networking and people skills
  • a strong desire to help BEIM fulfill its mission from an ecumenical perspective, that is, to invite, recruit and serve Ministry members and program participants from any faith or spiritual practice
  • must be an active Catholic, aligned with Church teachings, who will consistently adhere to and uphold them through BEIM policies and practices.
