K–12 Music Teacher (Full-Time)

Working Collaboratively with the Music Department Team Position Overview: Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Lumen Gentium Academy seek a full-time K–12 Music Teacher to join a collaborative music faculty committed to cultivating musical excellence and joy in students. The ideal candidate will be a skilled musician, passionate educator, and faithful Catholic who understands music as an integral expression of beauty and a vital part of school culture and classical Catholic formation. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Teach music classes across grade levels (K–12), including general music, choral instruction, and music theory or history, depending on experience and departmental needs.
  • Work in close partnership with other music faculty to coordinate curriculum, performances, and liturgical music.
  • Prepare and lead student performances, including concerts, recitals, and school-wide liturgies.
  • Introduce students to the Western musical canon, sacred music, and foundational music literacy.
  • Inspire a love of beauty, order, and discipline through music instruction aligned with the school’s classical vision.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or related field; master’s preferred.
  • Competency in teaching a range of ages and abilities; choral conducting and/or instrumental proficiency a plus.
  • Practicing Catholic with a deep appreciation of sacred music and the liturgical tradition.
  • Willingness to collaborate with a team of music educators and contribute to the long-term growth of the music program.
