Job Title: Middle School English + History Teacher

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job Summary:
The Middle School English Teacher provides instruction and guidance to students, focusing on the core areas of English Language Arts, such as writing, reading, and grammar, as well as other related topics. The Middle School English Teacher works to ensure the successful completion of the school’s academic goals, while helping to shape the social and spiritual development of the students in their classrooms.

Responsibilities:
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the needs of the students
• Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and instructional strategies to engage students
• Monitor, assess, and record student progress
• Encourage and foster a safe, nurturing environment
• Promote the academic, spiritual, and social development of each student
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction
• Uphold and model the school’s mission and values
• Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay up to date on best practices

• Commitment to Catholic Identity and forming students in their love of Jesus Christ.
• Commitment to teaching the whole child (academics, social emotional learning, and spiritual formation).
• Ability to embed differentiation in daily instruction to meet the needs of a wide range of students.
• Commitment to collaboration and reflection within a school community dedicated to continuous improvement.
• Commitment to continued development of his/her personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Ability to adjust instruction based on formative assessment data.
• Ability to communicate effectively to form partnerships with families.
• Ability to reflect on practice.
• Valid Wisconsin teaching certificate in the subject area of employment (Middle Level Education) – preferred.
• A background in English and History instruction is preferred; teacher creativity is valued.

The Middle School English Teacher will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.
