The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish (St. Louis Catholic Church and Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School – Austin, Texas) which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or laypeople). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed at St. Louis Catholic Church and Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School – Waco, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to, and assists the Pastor in, the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Specialist assists in maintaining the cleanliness and operating condition of all parish buildings and equipment and completes simple repairs. Utilizes knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or heating and cooling skills in performing assignments. The Maintenance Specialist is to accomplish this by adhering to the parish and school core values and so assist in accomplishing its purpose and promise.

Essential Job Duties:
Maintain, repair, clean, and service all equipment, fixtures, buildings, and properties.
Occasionally set up rooms for events in the parish activity center.
Assist with seasonal decorations in the church, parish activity center, and school.
Assist with keeping the parish grounds clean (picking up debris, pressure washing, maintaining floor mats, and other cleaning tasks).
Must be able to lift 80 pounds, and be comfortable climbing ladders and operating common hand and power tools.
