Baseball Coach

St. Gabriel’s Catholic School and St. Micheal’s Catholic Academy is seeking middle school baseball coaches for the 2022 – 2023 school year. St. Gabriel’s Catholic School and St. Micheal’s Catholic Academy is a coeducational Catholic school serving students from Pre-K 3 through 12th grade in Austin, Texas. The Lower School comprises grades PK3-4th, the Middle School houses grades 5-8, and the high school includes grades 9-12. SGCS and SMCA provide a challenging and enriched curriculum that prepares students for higher education and beyond.

Coaches must possess a love for children in all their developmental stages, the ability to work well on a team, the flexibility and versatility to fill multiple duties on the coaching staff, excellent oral and written communication skills with both colleagues and the community, and be motivated, life-long learners.

The ideal candidate, therefore, is a dynamic person who has at least three years of coaching experience, has demonstrated a passion for middle school students and for teaching the sport, and is either familiar with, or willing to develop expertise in, John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success and Positive Coaching Alliance’s Double-Goal Coaching. SGCS and SMCA strives to create positive relationships with parents and the community, thus coaches are expected to demonstrate a willingness to partner with parents in order to create meaningful growth and development for student-athletes.
