Resource Teacher for Students with Cognitive and Intellectual Disabilities

Saint Theresa began the journey of expanding resources and services so that
students with cognitive and intellectual disabilities can have access to a Catholic
education at Saint Theresa. This allows students with a disability to grow
academically, socially and spiritually with their classmates.

Saint Theresa Catholic School (STCS) has an opening for Resource Teacher for
the 2023-2024 School Year.

Reports to: Principal

Qualifications:
Must be a practicing Catholic.
Degree from an accredited college or university in education, special education, or
related field.
Hold–or be eligible for–a VCEA or VA license.

We are seeking a dynamic educator with a passion for special education to join our
resource team. Candidates must hold–or be soon eligible for–a VCEA or VA license.
He/she should have experience in the classroom, and in working with small groups and
one-on-one. Candidates should know a variety of instructional techniques, and be
familiar with reading student assistance plans or IEPs.

Once hired, the school expects faculty members to stay current with professional
development activities, as well as to participate in the school’s in-services, meetings,
and other events.
