Job Description and Requirements

St. John Paul II High School is seeking a part-time Technology teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

The desired applicant will be able to provide engaging instruction possess a high level of content mastery, can collaborate well with colleagues, and be experienced teaching computer science or engineering.

This part-time teaching positions for the classes in Computer Science I and in Computer Science II w/Robotics. This position also serves as the Google Technology Coordinator for the campus which is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the school’s 1:1 Chromebook program and support for faculty, staff, and students experiencing technical difficulties. The Google Technology Coordinator is responsible for being current on the latest trends, technologies, and opportunities available to faculty and students through the Google Workspace for Education platform.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 12 credit hours in education are required or the appropriate state certificate.
  • A background in the content knowledge of Computer Science is preferred. An understanding of how a Catholic worldview permeates the curriculum and instruction. Must be committed to being a model of Christian wisdom and virtue.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, and drug screening
  • Certified in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
  • Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures
