The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for writing content, research, project management, and resource organization to support enrollment-driven campaigns. This role focuses on writing and developing clear, engaging, and persuasive content tailored to various audiences. Content includes advertisements, emails, newsletters, videos, web pages, and print collateral, all aimed at driving enrollment and promoting the university’s mission. Exceptional writing skills are a must.
The specialist must effectively collaborate with departments across the university to gather relevant information and ensure timely delivery of content. Additionally, they will manage campaigns from conception to completion, overseeing timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project execution. A strong grasp of marketing strategies, both traditional and digital, is essential for reaching prospective students and achieving enrollment goals.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
• Writes, edits, and ensures the timely delivery of clear, engaging, and persuasive content for marketing materials that is crafted for various audiences and aligns with the university’s voice. This includes advertisements, billboards, videos, emails, newsletters, web pages, and print collateral, with a strategic focus on driving enrollment.
• Researches subject matter and collaborates with other departments to gather appropriate details for content that will achieve university goals and resonate with specific audiences.
• Serves as project manager for assigned campaigns, coordinating tasks, timelines, and deliverables across creative, marketing, and administrative teams to ensure successful and timely completion of enrollment-driven campaigns.
• Manages a library of facts, resources, and content assets (e.g., research data, quotes, statistics) to ensure accuracy and consistency in marketing collateral and easy access for future projects.
Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience Include:
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or another related field
• Preferred: Minimum three years’ experience in marketing, public relations or similar position
• Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
• Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
• Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Public Affairs and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and clarity
• Ability to write in a compelling and concise manner for a wide range of formats (advertisements, emails, web copy, brochures).
• Strong research skills
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing content creation with project deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability and willingness to take on projects in unfamiliar areas and to acclimate quickly
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability and desire to work both independently and collaboratively
• High level of attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality across all marketing materials.
• Ability to multi-task and produce solid copy on a regular, timely basis
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word

Who You Are
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; certificates from The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) may be a substitute
- 3+ years’ experience in human resources, ideally within professional services industry and remote company with 50-100 people
- You demonstrate the utmost of integrity, both with clients and employees
- You are resilient and goal-oriented, with a track record of exceeding expectations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with the human resources platforms such as Bamboo HR and EdApp
- Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, risk management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations

Human Resources Managers set the tone for the entire human resources department. From employee relations to payroll to compliance issues, the HR department helps ensure that an organization runs smoothly, and the Human Resources Manager is at the helm.
Duties and responsibilities of a Human Resources Manager include:
- Focus on delivering an exceptional employee experience and remote work culture
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
- Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
- Manage the creation and maintenance of company policies, employee handbook, and other key resources
- Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities

Position Mission
FOCUS is seeking a Web/Email specialist with a passion for digital evangelization and a knack for technical excellence. As part of our marketing team, you will play a role in advancing our mission to share the hope and joy of the gospel. Your responsibilities will include supporting our email marketing campaigns, maintaining and updating our websites, creating compelling content, and leveraging data and analytics to drive engagement.
Position Responsibilities
Email Marketing
- Support the planning and execution of email marketing campaigns, including design, layout, scheduling, and tracking.
- Implement A/B testing for email campaigns to identify the most effective strategies.
- Analyze and report on campaign performance, providing regular reports on open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and other key metrics.
Website Management
- Ensure that our websites are regularly updated with content that is timely, accurate, and engaging.
- Utilize HTML/CSS to implement design updates and improving the user experience.
- Recommend improvements for the website’s functionality and design, based on user feedback, best practices, and analytics.
Content Creation
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create content for the website and email campaigns.
- Assist in creating visual assets for web and email use, with proficiency in design software like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
Reporting and Analytics
- Monitor and evaluate website and email campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics.
- Develop regular reports detailing website traffic, user behavior, email campaign performance, and SEO effectiveness.
- Use insights from data to suggest improvements to digital marketing strategies
SEO
- Support the implementation of SEO best practices on FOCUS websites, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link-building.
- Track and report on SEO performance, recommending adjustments to improve website visibility and organic traffic.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advancements in web and email marketing, SEO, and related technologies.
- Suggest ways to incorporate new trends and technologies into our digital marketing efforts.
Qualifications
- A solid understanding of digital marketing principles, with a focus on web and email marketing.
- Basic proficiency in HTML/CSS preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SEO and web traffic metrics.
- Practical experience with Google Analytics
- Experience with marketing automation/CRM platforms, such as Hubspot.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Hubspot)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software.
Compensation & Benefits
For this role, we anticipate paying $55,000 – $65,000/year. (This role is also eligible for bonus pay.) This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
