The Diocese of Corpus Christ is seeking a full-time High School Principal (grades 9-12) with a proven record of leadership in areas of faith formation for students and staff, creating a culture of academic excellence and building upon the foundation of values, virtues, and community.
Under the direct supervision of the President and Superintendent of Catholic Schools, the Principal guides the school by a clearly communicated mission. This mission should embrace Catholic identity rooted in Gospel values, centered on the Eucharist and committed to faith formation, academic excellence and service.
Providing a school culture for students and staff to grow in their faith journey, the Principal serves as a role model for the community. The Principal ensures opportunities for liturgical and para-liturgical celebrations, communal prayer and action in service to social justice.
The Principal is the educational and instructional leader of the school ensuring a rigorous academic program with relevant and innovative instruction and assessment practices. The Principal assumes the responsibility for the developing, implementing and the coordination of all aspects of the instructional program including the commitment to educating the whole child. The Principal provides the pathway for continuous professional development and growth for all teachers and staff empowering them to grow in their craft.
As the Administrator of all School Programs, Athletics and Student Services, the Principal oversees and coordinates supporting activities and services to accomplish the goals and objectives of the total school program. The Principal works to provide opportunities to advance student development –spiritually, intellectually, morally, socially and physically.
The Principal is responsible for the fiscal management of the school. This includes budget preparation, monitoring budgets and submitting budget disbursements for diocesan approval. The management of the school plant and facilities must ensure the safe, secure and well-maintained environments for the students, faculty and staff at all times.
Ministerial Character:
The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
Provides visionary and energetic leadership to the school community
Fosters and maintains community relations through collaboration and servant leadership
Serves as a change agent to improve all facets of the school and assess challenges and successes
Instills a drive for the development of strong faith filled students and for academic excellence
Ensures compliance with all standards, polices, protocols, etc.
Maintains confidentiality
Engenders loyalty and unity with the school mission through wise and prudent decision making and action
Values and promotes the successful implementation of career pathways
The ideal candidate for the Principal position should have a passion for Catholic education with successful experience as school leader.
Minimum Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Catholic Church
Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 hours in Educational Leadership Program Coursework or a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership
3-5 years proven track record of success as a teacher/school leader
Highly organized with project management skills and drive to meet the organizational objectives
Knowledge of Career Pathways for students is preferred
Creative thinker with strategic planning skills
Commitment to Catholic education
Additional Requirements:
Submit to employment required screening, criminal background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening
Complete certification in Safe Environment Training by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
Position requires adherence to all diocesan policies and procedures
Valid Texas driver’s license
