Position: 5th Grade Catholic School Teacher

St. Michael School is looking for a passionate and practicing Catholic to teach 5th Grade for the 2024-2025 school year!
St. Michael School is seeking a passionate and dedicated 5th Grade Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators. Our school is committed to providing a Christ-centered education, grounded in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition of the Liberal Arts, that nurtures the spiritual, academic, and social growth of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong Catholic faith, excellent teaching skills, and a love for working with children.
Responsibilities:
– Plan and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school’s Catholic Liberal Arts curriculum as well as the diocesan and state curriculum standards
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes spiritual, academic, and social growth
– Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and concerns
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments
– Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom management
– Prepare students for sacraments (if necessary) and participate in school Masses and prayer services
– Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required
– Adhere to all school policies and procedures
– Other duties as assigned by the school principal
Qualifications:
– Passionate and practicing Catholic with a strong knowledge and commitment to Catholic teachings and values
– Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
– Valid teaching certification in Pennsylvania (optional but preferred)
– Previous experience teaching in a Catholic school setting (optional but preferred)
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
– Strong understanding of instructional strategies and assessment techniques
– Committed to ongoing professional development and growth
