Position: Band Teacher

The Cathedral School of Saint Matthew is seeking a highly motivated Band Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will have a passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a love of music in students. This is a part-time position but could be a full-time position with incorporating another school need into the duties.

Responsibilities:

– Teach band classes to students in grades 4-8,  engaging and inspiring students
– Direct and conduct rehearsals for school band performances, including concerts
– Help students select appropriate instruments and provide guidance in instrument care and maintenance
– Monitor student progress and provide feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential
– Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and upcoming events

Requirements:
– Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field but open to a qualified person from another means.
– Proficiency in playing at least one band instrument
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students, parents, and colleagues
– A commitment to promoting a positive learning environment
– Willingness to collaborate and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
