ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for  Client Advisors to join our growing client support team. These hybrid, full-time positions will be an extension of our home office location team in South Bend, Indiana. These are critical roles designed for recent graduates or entry-level professionals responsible for helping us build a mission centered, growth-focused financial services firm as we expand our accounting services and partnerships with Catholic organizations across the country. The successful candidate will need depth in understanding efficient accounting services, planning and execution throughout the lifecycle of the business to support our broad customer base, targeted growth, and the scale at which we’re currently operating. This role will report to a Client Advisor-Senior.

 

WHAT MAKES A GREAT CLIENT ADVISOR?

  • Guide the work of Client Service Specialists 
  • Manage Technology with Clients

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform general accounting tasks and assist with the preparation of financial statements, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures
  • Help maintain accurate and organized financial records by inputting and verifying financial transactions
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning and decision-making processes of our clients
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Liaise with external parties, such as auditors and tax professionals, to provide necessary documentation and support
  • Stay current with US GAAP accounting regulations and financial reporting standards to ensure compliance
  • Assist in special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders by promptly responding to inquiries and providing accurate information
  • Ensure usage of proper supporting documentation for transactions processed
  • Utilize SJFS’ best practice standard tools, templates, and methodologies in delivery of client services and interacting with SJFS team members
  • Prepare payments by approved AP invoices; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts
  • Protect the client’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Recommend areas for efficiency and automation in the accounting function

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU – OUR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or work-related experience equivalent
  • Minimum 0-2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong MS Excel Skills including Excel formulas (VLOOKUP’s, and other formulas)
  • Proficient in the use of Google Work Space and financial management software (Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com/Bill & Spend, FloQast)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
