Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The Database Administrator upholds the integrity and health of World Villages for Children (WVC) donor information in support of organizational stewardship, accountability and growth. The Database Administrator holds primary responsibility for donor database maintenance, reporting and list generation, as well as supporting the entire development team to accomplish organizational goals. The Database Administrator oversees WVC information systems and advises leadership on IT solutions. The ideal candidate is a team-player, works well independently and has a passion for serving the poor.

About World Villages for Children: Founded by the Venerable Fr. Aloysius Schwartz, World Villages for Children is the North American development arm of the international poverty relief work of the Sisters of Mary. The charitable and educational programs of the Sisters of Mary nurture the whole child – academically, physically, vocationally, and spiritually. The results are transformative for graduates who go on to college or vocational careers and help bring their entire families out of the cycle of poverty. Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of Raiser’s Edge NXT® donor database, including daily imports, record maintenance and managerial reports
  • Generate and manage mailing and other lists for donor and prospect outreach
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy, routinely performing quality control checks and feedback processes for remedying errors and cleaning up data
  • Ensure the integrity of internal processes to collect, enter, store and access donor data
  • Conduct regular data integration between the donor database and financial software, delivering monthly reconciliation reports and supporting other accounting needs
  • Process high-touch donations such as wire transfers, stock gifts, corporate matching donations, and monthly recurring donations
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including external caging operation
  • Develop fundraising and managerial reports for a variety of marketing, communication and solicitation projects
  • Conduct prospect and donor research and wealth screening to keep development staff informed of potential/higher gifts
  • Conduct training with development staff, including new employee onboarding, to equip team members with donor database knowledge and skills
  • Ensure technology solutions and tools remain up-to-date for the organization’s needs
  • Stay up to date on technology security issues, providing updates and warnings to staff
  • Assist is accomplishing other organizational objectives as needed

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT® Professional Certification
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Experience with Omatic® products including Import-O-Matic and Segment-O-Matic; or related experience
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite of products

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Track record of creating operations routines including quality control steps and checks
  • Familiarity with data security standards and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with fundraising and donor management processes and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision
