Find out more about this amazing Diocese here. The Diocese of Cheyenne seeks the ideal candidate for the position of Assistant to the Diocesan Bishop in Pastoral Formation. The office is seeking a dedicated individual to collaborate closely with the Bishop in the development and direction of pastoral formation within its vibrant communities. At the heart of the Diocese of Cheyenne, the Office of Pastoral Formation stands as a guiding force, dedicated to nurturing and strengthening the spiritual fabric of parishes, missions, and schools. As the Director of Pastoral Formation, an ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of the Catholic faith and demonstrate the ability to work harmoniously with various stakeholders, including clergy, diocesan personnel, parish members, and the public. Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rural nature of our diocese are essential aspects of this role, along with proficiency in English and Spanish, with a preference for candidates who understand Hispanic cultures. As a candidate, the person will bring experience, including at least five years in pastoral ministry or a related field, along with managerial experience. Experience in leading parish faith formation ministries, particularly among Latino communities, is highly valued. An M.Div., M.A. in Theology, a graduate degree in a related field, or equivalent education and experience is preferred. Reporting to the Executive Director of Parish Services, key responsibilities will include directing the Office of Pastoral Formation, supervising associate directors, managing budgets, and writing grant requests. You will also play a crucial role in the ongoing formation of directors and coordinators of faith formation, marriage formation, and accompaniment, as well as ensuring unified formation experiences across the diocese. In collaboration with parish leaders, you will design and implement formation opportunities aligned with the priorities of Vision 2030. This includes facilitating lay leaders’ retreats, providing ministerial certification, and supporting ongoing adult formation. Furthermore, you will assist in implementing Formation for Marriage and Marriage Accompaniment, initiate synodal processes, and promote the training of Natural Family Planning educators. You will collaborate closely with ministry leaders to align diocesan resources, prepare candidates for sacraments, coordinate annual institutes, and provide training for parish directors. Additionally, you will maintain a resource database and keep stakeholders informed through monthly newsletters.
