Position: Estate Planning Attorney
Location: On-site at McCarthy & Akers, PLC in Northern Virginia
McCarthy & Akers, PLC is a full-service law firm located in Northern Virginia. We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join our team in one of our On-site locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estate planning laws and regulations in Virginia and be committed to providing excellent legal services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
– Meet with clients to discuss their estate planning goals and needs
– Draft wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents
– Research and analyze complex estate planning issues
– Advise clients on strategies for minimizing tax liabilities and preserving wealth
– Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members on estate planning files
– Stay up-to-date on changes in estate planning laws and regulations
– Communicate regularly with clients and provide updates on the status of their cases
– Attend court hearings or meetings related to probate and administration matters
– Maintain accurate and detailed case records and documentation
– Build and maintain relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction with our services
Qualifications:
– Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
– Active license to practice law in the state of Virginia
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning
– Strong knowledge of federal and state estate planning laws and regulations
– Excellent research and analytical skills
– Outstanding oral and written communication skills
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
– Professional demeanor and strong ethical standards
– Experience with document management software and other legal tools
