Date:  November 7, 2023 Position Available:  Assistant Director of Admissions Position Reports to:  Director of Admissions Department:  Admissions FLSA Status:  Exempt Schedule:  Full-time; Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., evening and weekend hours required   Please apply online:     POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Director of Admissions will recruit and enroll a specific number of new students each year towards the enrollment goal, as well as assist the Director of Admissions in added administrative responsibilities, specifically with coordinating virtual content, parent and family communications, external vendor relationships, SWOP supervision, and other special projects as assigned.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage a full admissions funnel, recruiting and enrolling freshman and transfers each fall and spring.
  2. Provide administrative representation and assistance to the Director of Admissions as part of the Enrollment Leadership team to help with strategic planning and execution of those plans.
  3. Supervision and coordination of SWOP positions in Admissions

Additional duties, expectations and responsibilities may be added or changed as needed to meet the University’s needs.   REQUIREMENTS Must understand, support, and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:   Work Experience

  • Success as an Admissions Counselor and Senior Admissions Counselor or similar recent professional experience
  • Takes initiative to grow professionally and accept added responsibility.
  • Extensive experience with managing an Admissions of similar sales funnel and promoting FUS, as well as understanding of leadership and mentorship needs for the team.


  • Action oriented – Displays initiative; doesn’t wait to be told or asked to do something. Doesn’t get bogged down in planning or analysis; has a penchant for taking action and producing results
  • Planning, Strategic Thinking – Follows relevant trends and accurately anticipates future implications for the University. Demonstrates broad knowledge and perspective, as well as appropriate attention to detail. Identifies and thinks through possible obstacles and related contingency actions and plans.
  • Developing Self – Continually assesses one’s skills and identifies areas that can be further improved. Sets ambitious personal goals that require stretch or exposes one to new situations or challenges.
  • Developing Others – Provides others with challenging tasks and assignments. Is effective at sizing up people’s strengths and weaknesses and managing them accordingly
  • Customer Service Focused – Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Displays a sense of urgency and responsiveness to customers’ needs, inquiries, and requests.


  • BS or BA required

    Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Admissions or similar CRM experience preferred (Salesforce, Slate)
  • High Sales Achievement Predictor Score

  Workplace Factors

  • Travel to designated high school youth conferences during the summer, and various events at high schools/high recruitment areas during the school year.
  • Work a minimum of one night per week, as well as occasinally work nights and weekends when necessary for events and travel.
