High School Computer Science Teacher

CRITICAL SKILLS NEEDED:
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction in their area of certification
Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, assessment strategies, and motivational strategies that promote authentic student engagement
Planning and organizing skills
Communicates effectively in oral and written form with both students and adults
Has the ability to effectively embed available technology into daily lesson plans

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technology or a Bachelor’s
Degree plus 24 hours in computer science or technology
12 credit hours in education are required or the appropriate state certification

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The desired applicant will be able to provide engaging instruction, possess a high level of content mastery, and be experienced at teaching high school level mathematics.
Plans for successful student learning of daily objectives that include basic knowledge and skills, and central concepts of the discipline
Ensures students are engaged and successful in learning, critical thinking, and problem solving
Able to effectively manage time and materials
Maintains current records for student grades and progress

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Submit to employment required screening, criminal background and drug screening
Complete certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
Position requires adherence to all diocesan policies and procedures
