Job Description and Responsibilities
Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School is currently in need of a part -time Math Tutor. The candidate would be responsible for tutoring students that need extra help in developing their math skills. The candidate must be proficient in math and hold a bachelor’s degree.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis and love of Math
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Able to work part-time (3 hours a day)
• Must follow all Diocesan and School Policies
• Computer proficient (Chromebook, smartboard)
• Prefer experience in working with students
Skills
• Must be proficient in middle level math
• Must be willing to collaborate with the classroom teacher’s math strategies and approved math curriculum
• Effective in assessing math strengths and areas of focus
• Report to the principal about progress/or needs
• Be able to partner with parents on progress being made in tutoring
Additional Requirements:
• Valid Driver’s License
• Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, and drug screening
• MVR
• Certified in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
• Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures
Hours:
Part-time – Compensation for Part-time Math Tutor is $15.00 an hour for three hours a day three times a week. Compensation would be paid through Title Funds.
