The Covenant School is seeking a passionate and talented Middle School Music teacher for the 2024-25 school year who can magnetically draw students into the joy of music-making as a normal part of the whole-school culture. The person in this role will teach multiple music classes at both beginner and intermediate levels for students in Grades 6-8, and must have solid facility in singing, basic keyboard skills, devised rhythm pieces, and incorporating simple movement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in and commitment to Christian education and the Liberal Arts tradition and be a collaborator within the department and the wider school community. Most importantly, the candidate should be passionate about working with adolescents, able to connect with them, and committed to their formation as individuals on the cusp of adulthood. Given Covenant’s mission, this commitment to formation requires a person who can share their Christian faith authentically in the context of their teaching.
