The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success teaching middle school science, with varying abilities, and will help advance the mission of St. Odilia School by:

- Is current and competent in the theories and pedagogy of science instruction, including familiarity and understanding of the current middle school science standards.
- Demonstrates success with instructional, pedagogical, and curricular work in one or more science fields.
- Strong desire to teach using an inquiry-based methodology.
- Working with our students to develop a character based on virtues and personal integrity.
- Participating as a member of our community in workshops, staff development opportunities, and committee responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commitment to Catholic Education.
- BA or BS Degree, Current MN Teaching License to correspond with courses taught. (MA/MS preferred)
- Middle School Science Licensure and/or experience teaching Middle School Science, including experience teaching hands-on labs
- Exhibit competence in instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter being taught.
- Commitment to the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students.
- Demonstrate evidence of strong and effective classroom management techniques, specifically with middle school students.
- Desire to work within a team and ability to maintain a positive atmosphere with colleagues.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with school, students, staff, and parents.
- Experience with technology in the classroom, SMARTBoard, iPad, Mackbook, etc.
