The Operations Coordinator is a member of The Cardinal Newman Society’s finance and operations team under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Finance and Operations. This is a part-time position working from The Cardinal Newman Society’s offices in western Prince William County, Virginia.
The Cardinal Newman Society promotes and defends faithful Catholic education. The finance and operations team has a vital role in the mission of The Cardinal Newman Society. By enabling the Society’s work, the team strives to increase faithful Catholic education and thereby assist the Church’s evangelization. It provides finance and operations support to all members of the Society’s staff and for all activities of the Society, including teaching and defending the Church’s doctrine on the human person, the family, morality, faith development, and education. The finance and operations team conducts all its activities in accord with Catholic moral and social principles, ensuring and modeling faithful Catholic financial, administrative, personnel, legal, ethical, and religious policies and procedures.
Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Pick up mail from Manassas office and serve as point of contact for shipments coming to the main office. Sort, scan, and send mail to appropriate staff.
- Pick up orders from printer.
- Assist with mailings and send shipments to donors, Board Members, etc.
- Prepare and make bank deposits.
- Answer phones and reply to incoming emails in a manner that promotes the Society and its work, faithful Catholic education, and fidelity to Catholic teaching and practice.
- Serve needs of remote staff including print jobs and ordering office supplies.
- File office documents.
- Communicate with vendors and arrange for IT support as needed, spring and fall HVAC servicing, office cleaning, utilities, and other operational needs.
- Check and maintain office including office supplies, stamp supply, kitchen and bathroom supplies, soap refills, holy water fonts, garbage disposal, and coffee machine.
- Update phone extensions/auto attendant messages and set up phones.
- Assist with human resources responsibilities such as onboarding, offboarding, dispersing and collecting necessary paperwork, insurance set ups, etc., consistent with The Cardinal Newman Society’s mission and fidelity to Catholic teaching and practice.
- Help document and maintain clear operational guides to ensure consistency of operations.
- Liaison with various operations vendors not specified above.

- Pray for Catholic education and the work of The Cardinal Newman Society and participate in staff prayer.

- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
