Position: PreK4 Teacher
Location: St. Michael School, On-site
St. Michael School is looking for a passionate and practicing Catholic to teach PreK4 for the 2024-2025 school year!
PreK4 is the first experience many of our students have of school and forms the groundwork for their academic, spiritual, emotional, physical, and social journey. We need a teacher who is not only competent and confident in delivering instruction and creating a loving and safe environment but is also ready to inspire wonder and awe in our students: to awaken their imaginations to the great beauty, truth, and goodness in the world around them and their place in it!
Job Summary:
The PreK4 Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate and engaging curriculum for our PreK4 students. This individual will also be responsible for creating a positive and learning environment that promotes the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of our young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s Catholic Liberal Arts curriculum
– Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for students to play, learn, and explore
– Plan and organize classroom activities, field trips, and special events
– Monitor and assess student progress, and provide appropriate feedback and support
– Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure the well-being and progress of students
– Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s academic and social development
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ attendance and progress
– Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required
– Adhere to all school policies and procedures
– Other duties as assigned by the school principal
Qualifications:
– Passionate and practicing Catholic
– Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
– Valid state teaching certification in Early Childhood Education (optional)
– Trained in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (optional but highly preferred)
– Montessori trained (optional but preferred)
– Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting
– Passion for educating and engaging young learners
– Strong knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education
– Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students
– Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth
