School Guidance Counselor

St. Mary Catholic School, a Pre-K through 8th grade school located in historic Hagerstown, MD is seeking a full-time Guidance Counselor.  The individual in this position is responsible for overseeing the cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral environment of the school through managing student behavior and addressing the needs of students in an age-appropriate manner.   Job responsibilities include direct personal counseling services for individual students and groups, observing and assessing students in a classroom setting, facilitating communication between parents, teachers, and administrators about student behavior, and more.  The qualified candidate will have or be working toward a master’s degree in counseling or related field, possess or be willing to obtain a certification in school counseling, have a deep belief in the potential of all children and the values of Catholic education, and will support and uphold Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of St. Mary Catholic School.
