St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School (SVdP) seeks a STEM Coordintor to join our team of 55 faculty and staff.  Strong candidates will have excellent communication and teamwork skills.  They should be passionate about teaching and focused on our mission to develop students to their fullest potential in an environment permeated with Gospel values.   St. Vincent de Paul School is centrally located in West University Place, close to the Texas Medical Center.  It is a thriving parish school with a full enrollment of 512 students across ten grade levels from PK4 to 8th grade.  SVdP is a 2016 and 2022 National Blue Ribbon School and has been named a “top workplace” four times by the Houston Chronicle.  SVdP was the first Catholic School in the nation to become STEM-certified by the National Institute for STEM Education (NISE).   Category:  Salaried/Exempt (Full-time): 12 month contract – Work Year Schedule based on school calendar, August – May Reports to: School Principal

Preferred Qualifications

  • State Teacher Certification in appropriate grade level
  • Three years teaching experience; STEM Lab experience preferred
  • Catechist certification
  • Safe Haven training
  • STEM Certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials into learning experiences
  • Emphasize critical thinking and problem solving techniques
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to meet student needs
  • Maintain communication and parental involvement in the learning process
  • Ensure that student conduct conforms to school standards
  • Integrate technology into the curriculum
  • Model Catholic values serving as a role model
  • Attend meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
