As a wilderness guide you spend the summer guiding teens and adults in backpacking, rock climbing, ropes course, peak ascents, and other activities, facilitating and opportunity for people to experience creation and encounter God.
The wilderness guide will have a broad range of skills and knowledge. They will participate in the planning, teaching, leading and processing the groups activities. This position requires the individual to adapt to their groups needs and goals with effective communication with coworkers and clients.
Requirements: Strong faith that you are excited to share with others, willing to serve in a ministry setting, CPR & Wilderness first aid (not required to apply, this can be obtained between hiring and start date). Over 18. Good physical condition and able to learn and become proficient in the activities we offer. Good communication skills. Teaching skills or the ability to learn. Attendance of staff training for 2 weeks in may.
Helpful experience: any experience in the outdoors such as rock climbing, team building, backpacking, hiking, etc.
Dates: May 17th through early August.
Compensation: Pay starts at $175 weekly with add on pay for experience or certifications. All housing and meals are provided during duration of employment. Workers compensation insurance. An on-site level 1 ACCT training is provided during staff training as well.
