St. John Paul II High School is seeking to hire a teacher for Precalculus and Calculus courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The desired applicant will be able to provide engaging instruction, possess a high level of content mastery, and be experienced at teaching high school level mathematics.
- Plans for successful student learning of daily objectives that include basic knowledge and skills, and central concepts of the discipline
- Ensures students are engaged and successful in learning, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Able to effectively manage time and materials
- Maintains current records for student grades and progress
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a Bachelor’s Degree plus 24 hours in Math.
- 12 credit hours in education are required or the appropriate state certification
CRITICAL SKILLS NEEDED:
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction in their area of certification
- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, assessment strategies, and motivational strategies that promote authentic student engagement
- Planning and organizing skills
- Effective communication skills in oral and written form with both students and adults
- Ability to effectively embed available technology into daily lesson plans
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Submit to employment required screening, criminal background, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
- Complete certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to all diocesan policies and procedures
