Respect Life Pregnancy Help Centers in Fort Lauderdale area has an immediate opening for a benefits eligible, regular part-time Ultrasound Technician. As a member of the Respect Life team, the Ultrasound Technician performs limited ultrasound examinations to verify pregnancies and assists in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Help Centers. Working under the Director and the Assistant Director, the Ultrasound Technician also assists in outreach to local parishes to gain volunteer involvement and funding and to grow the visibility of the ministry in the community. This technician gives direct services to program recipients, assists in training volunteers, performs administrative tasks as needed, and participates in projects and initiatives related to the Respect Life Ministry. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Respect Life Office and the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Schedule: 30 hours per week, including each Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. & one weekday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities:
Complies with established Respect Life Ministry policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance methods, and safety codes.
Demonstrates compliance with licensing, regulatory, and accrediting agency provisions as required.
Performs limited ultrasound examinations for pregnancy verification, utilizes established technique and protocols, and evaluates image for optimal technical quality.
Checks equipment and supplies on a regular basis; Communicates any problems to the supervisor as well submits requests for new supplies.
Maintains orderly and clean work environment; provides a sterile environment for all clients, staff, and volunteers.
Responsible for following OSHA requirements and proper hazardous waste management.
Provides pregnancy counseling to clients in accordance with Florida Pregnancy Center Network (FPCN) guidelines.
Facilitates “Earn While You Learn” client classes under the discretion of the program coordinator.
Assists the Respect Life Ministry team with administrative and other related duties as assigned.
Represents the Respect Life Ministry team with community outreach efforts at such events as health fairs, parish speaking events, etc.
Enhances professional growth and development with educational programs, meetings, and current literature.
Attends staff meetings with Medical Director annually as required.
Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree and one year experience as an Ultrasound Technician preferred.
Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound program.
Current/valid ARDMS certification required.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging and crisis situations.
Effective familiarity with computer applications.
Good time management skills, including ability to multi-task and retain accuracy.
Strong oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice and good spelling and grammar.
Good Haitian-Creole and/or Spanish communication skills strongly preferred.
Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
Must have a professional demeanor.
